( For now we are publishing this website just to have feedback from friends and contacts, we will let everyone know when we are fully operational, thanks for visiting! =)
Sophia
We define ourselves as an Experimental Philosophy Research Collective, but that is only for those who feel more comfortable with a definition. Sophia is more of a space where people meet to explore into the nature of the world, themselves, and the bonds that they create.
As a collective, we build environments that encourage exploration. That is achieved through sharpening our perception, removing ideology or biases that might it distort it, and finding tools that may enhance it. No, we don’t mean tons of psychedelics — sorry!
These environments are mostly created through online meetings (more on that down below). However, we also meet in real-life, and are preparing a place in the mountains of Andalusia to host bigger events.
So far, a list of our activities looks like:
- Open online discussions on any of a variety of topics that we find interesting. This is our most 'philosophical' activity. You can read more about the nature of our dialogues here:
On dialogues
- Community-specific and problem-solving dialogues following some basic principles. These are mostly online for now, but we will be organising real-life events in the future. An example of this is a series of dialogues that we are putting together for the sustainability/regenerative/climate action community.
- Learning to build physical and relational environments for optimizing exploration/neuroplasticity/learning/growth; in contrast to the goal-oriented environments that we spend most of our lives in. You can read more about what we call the ‘Exploration Brain Framework’.
The Exploration Brain Framework
- Workshops, camps, events,... on 👆 such framework .
- Preparing the place to host events and activities. Example of event:
The Tribe Experiment
- Taking care of a piece of land in the mountains from a regenerative-farming point of view, and making it beautiful.
- Forming a community based in intentional experimental philosophy by applying the concepts of dialogue and the Exploration Brain Framework (more on that down below).
